Total Visual Agent addresses this need by executing automated, scheduled tasks on multiple databases across a network. In addition to database repair and compaction, it can make zipped backup copies, create rolling backups, perform data extraction (important when the database is used 24/7), and execute user defined tasks (for instance, data downloads or report printing). Tasks can be executed on a user-defined schedule once, multiple times per hour, once per hour, daily, weekly, or monthly.
A complete audit trail is maintained for all the tasks and if an unexpected problem occurs, an email is automatically sent to the system administrator. Advanced enterprise features include support for secured and password protected databases, managing all the objects in a directory, and performing the same tasks on multiple databases. System administrators can even specify ending times to make sure tasks are completed before the day starts (a warning email is issued if the deadline is met) and to ensure that tasks specified today do not become problems tomorrow as the databases grow.
Total Visual Agent is the new version of the existing Total Access Agent product. The name change reflects it use beyond the Access market. This version of Total Visual Agent supports Access 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 95, 97, 2000, 2002, and 2003 as well as Visual Basic 4.0, 5.0, and 6.0
